PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Custom formulated products provide value added solutions for you and your customers. Molex is ready to work with your technical group to select, formulate and pre-screen suitable products to reduce the evaluation period and eliminate unnecessary testing. We work in partnership with our customers to gain technical understanding of their performance requirements and design products accordingly. Molex then sources economical raw materials domestically and internationally to manufacture the cooperatively invented finished goods. Our test labs in Alabama and Texas work continually to create new proprietary products using our mix of by-product chemicals.

MATERIAL SOURCING

Molex has developed a reliable network of suppliers to ensure continuity of supply to our customers. Extensive knowledge of international shipping, documentation and distribution allows Molex to provide timely shipments to our customers. By reworking chemical by-products, Molex is achieving sustainability goals for the environment.

FACILITIES

Resource planning is an integral part of any business and Molex is here to help. Today’s business environment demands strict standards of quality and this is met with an on-site QA/QC lab. ACB International, our sister company strategically located near the Port of Houston, is the primary location for the storage of our products. By housing 44 tanks, we can provide over one million gallons of storage. Our fully indoor storage facility allows Molex to ship without weather delay. We also have offsite storage at five Houston area locations, which allows us to best position materials depending on proximity to our customers.

ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION

In 2020, to enhance its already robust energy and safety programs, Molex added ISO certifications 14001 and 45001.  These certifications ensure that a culture of sustainability and safety is maintained as the company grows.

As part of Molex’s ongoing commitment to safety, Molex’s storage facility, ACB International, partnered with the Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program (OSHCON).  After two years of working directly with OSHCON, ACB International was designated as a SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) facility.  At the time ACB International was awarded the SHARP designation in 2022, it was one of only 31 companies and 47 sites in the entire state of Texas to have this designation.  You can visit a list of current SHARP facilities here:  https://www.osha.gov/smallbusiness/sharp/bystate

Also in 2022, ACB international was awarded the Lone Star Safety Award by the Texas Department of Insurance.  Everyone at ACB International and Molex is very proud of the Lone Star Safety Award as ACB International is only one of seven companies in the state of Texas to have received this award and is the only chemical manufacturer in the state of Texas to have the award.  You can view a list of Lone Star Safety Award recipients here:  https://www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/safety/lssprecipients.html

We at Molex and ACB International would encourage any company to utilize similar safety programs available as they have engrained a culture of committed safety throughout the companies.

ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION

ACB International and Molex have been and remain committed to conservation and reducing energy consumption.  As part of its 14001 ISO program, Molex and ACB International have implemented robust recycling programs at all facilities.  At ACB international, over the course of just 3 years they achieved a remarkable 54.74% reduction in water usage.  Molex and ACB International have also demonstrated a commendable commitment to energy conservation.  Over $100,000 has been invested in new LED lighting and electrical upgrades to include 3-phase wiring for pumps and mixers.  To create redundancy and further improve reliability, ACB International chose to install the 3-phase wiring in addition to the existing single phase wiring.  Further power savings comes from installing tamper proof Nest thermostats at all locations along with motion lighting.  This is evidenced by a significant 21.93% reduction in kWh from 2021 to 2023. These programs and significant reductions underscores the unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

As with all ISO certifications, Molex and ACB International are constantly looking for ways to improve its impact on the environment in responsible ways.

ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION

Molex is proud to have earned its ISO 9001 certification, ensuring that our products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. We reduce costs by minimizing waste and errors, and strive to maintain effective product stewardship by standardizing our processes.

OUR COMPANY

Molex was founded in 1985 by Rodger Bennett, a chemical engineer with a BS from Georgia Tech. While working as a plant manager, Rodger recognized the potential for by-products with industrial customers seeking lower cost raw materials. He built Molex from a small local business to servicing companies throughout the U.S. and 20 foreign countries. Even after retiring in 2013, Rodger continues to mentor the Molex development team, sharing his knowledge gained from many years of product design.

Keith Bennett started with Molex in 1993 after graduating from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a BS in mechanical engineering. He became president of the company in 2006. Together with Co-owners Derek Puppa and Don Hutton, Molex continues to develop innovative product solutions based on by-products. In addition to its storage and blending facility in Texas, Molex procures material and distributes proprietary products globally.

Our chemists and engineers have many years of combined experience and knowledge about the chemical by-product industry. Molex operates with the highest standards and delivers solutions that meet our customers' needs for reliable, inexpensive products.

A STATEMENT FROM
KEITH BENNETT, EXECUTIVE ADVISOR:

"Molex was founded in 1985 by my father Rodger Bennett. The name is short for “molecular exchange,” and he chose it to concisely describe our company. Molex develops innovative, environmentally friendly products formulated with by-product chemicals.

Molex is now a Texas company, relocating in 2013 from our original offices in Alabama to our 65 acre site in Chambers County. Our newly built storage facility is constructed to meet rigorous modern standards for safety, health and environmental stewardship. This substantial investment highlights our commitment to Texas and the robust U.S. chemical industry.

It is a privilege to work with the outstanding team of men and women that Molex employs. I am proud of the dedication and integrity of our team, and how they professionally represent our company in the marketplace. Together we have forged strong relationships with our suppliers, customers and partners that drive our success, and we look forward to providing them with innovative business solutions in the years ahead."
